Harvest Country Fayre and Tractor & Vintage Car Run
Last Saturday, 28th October, the ladies from Church were cooking the breakfast that had kindly been sponsored by McAlister Eggs and Cloughbane Farm Shop. From 7.30am the ovens in the kitchen were going - getting ready for the first ever breakfast in our new Church Hall. It was all systems go.
A variety of stalls were set up in the hall showing their tares and indeed their talents were available for everyone to take a look around .
Completely overwhelmed by the volume of people who turned up for breakfast - we had to send Norman to the rescue who along with Cloughbane Farm Shop got us more supplies. Some of the men from our congregation also joined the ladies in the kitchen (some for the first time !) to try to lighten the load.
The tractor and vintage car runs were delayed slightly before the tractors headed for the hills of Pomeroy and the vintage cars headed for Draperstown.
On their return those taking part in the run were given tea, coffee, sandwiches and buns - giving everyone time to catch up with friends old and new.
We were really amazed by the amount raised of £4,600 - we are so grateful to all those who helped out in so many different ways and to all those who came to support the event from near and far. Stephen Donnelly has a youtube video posted of all the tractors departing - click on:
Maybe we will make this an annual event .....
By the way if you are free on Friday 17th November ..... come along to A Prelude to Christmas by Dungannon Choral Society
It is great to see our new Church hall being used in such a variety of ways.
